Here’s the map of Laguna waterpark:
- Waze Oz 180
The soon to be Surf Spot in DXB! The Waze Oz didn’t disappoint. As someone who doesn’t have experience in surfing, I still enjoyed it. This was my favorite. I was already gliding the waves on my second try. Thanks to the cool surfing instructors of Laguna. They were all patient and encouraging. I was hooked.
Here’s a short clip of the Waze Oz 180 in action.
- Splash Pad
This ones definitely perfect for the kids and the kid-at-heart. It was 40 degrees outside and the cold water from the the splash was so refreshing that I actually spent most of my time here.
- Aqua Splash
This one is for the bigger children. They can slide and run around this area. I love the giant bucket that fills up and pours water to the kids playing below. Like the splash pad, there are faucets, tubes and buckets that splashes water everywhere. There were a lot of lifeguards on this spot to make sure of the children’s safety.
- Lazy River
For the ones who want to just lay down and enjoy the sun, guests can grab a giant inflatable floater and just go with the flow. Lazy River is perfect to get that golden tan while enjoying the view of the waterpark. Just watch out for the obstacles that gets on the way from time to time.
- Slides – Manta, Constrictor, Free Fall, The Loop and Mad Racer
I tried three out of five slides and I must say that it’s not as nerve wracking as the slides in Aquaventure in Atlantis. I am usually game for this thrills but going up and down under the scorching heat of the sun was making me feel drained.
Trying Manta requires you to bring a giant Floater which was pretty heavy. You have to get four floors up to try the slide.
The Constrictor allows two people to slide in a loop
The Mad Racer allows two people to compete on a race by sliding through a mat.
- The Pool
Here was were all the adults unite. The Infinity pool was a great spot to chill and sleep if you wish. There was a Cafe in the pool area but was still close. There is also a way to the public beach from here.
- Food Kiosks
The Food stalls and Kiosks were open during Ramadan catering for non-fasting guests. They sell Pizza, Burgers, Paratha, Fruits and more. The price for their food items are slightly higher as expected, but the serving size was good enough.
The Pepperoni pizza was good and the Margherita pizza was average. Both pizza had a thin crust and was served extremely hot, fresh from the oven.
For me, the burger was the best meal I had, except the fries that it comes with is stale and tasteless. I had extra cheese dip and it made the fries somehow appetizing.
The drinks had a wide range of selection, from milkshake, slushie, juices and water.
Water – 10.00AED
Milkshake – 25.00AED
Slushie – 20.00AED
Burger – 35.00AED
Fries and Drink Combo – 15.00AED
Cheese Dip – 5.00AED
Margherita Pizza 40.00AED
- Le Shop
Near the main entrance is where you can buy your beach essentials like Rash guard, towels, sunglasses and souvenirs.
The lockers are paid separately. The price ranges from 25.00AED for Small, 35.00AED for Medium and 45.00AED for Large. Make sure that you have a cash with you since it is paid through a machine.
To avoid the hassle of getting your cash or card from your lockers, you can top up your wristband and use it as an e-wallet to buy food, rent towels and shop.
- Changing Rooms
There are changing rooms spread throughout the area. There were no signs if it was for ladies/gents so I guess anyone can use it.
- Snack Area
Here is where guests can eat and rest. it is located in front of Waze Oz, so people can watch the wanna be surfers while enjoying their meals.
You will never get lost with all these signs that serves as guide.
- Life Jackets
Grab one a life jacket for your little ones to make sure of their safety.
- Rest Area
There are beach beds all over the water park. It also has umbrellas and tables for a more convenient atmosphere.
If you have money to spare, there are also Cabanas if you opt for a more comfortable stay. It has four premium sun loungers and a wooden shade for a family or a group to enjoy. You can book this online for 995.00AED or 1,100.00AED at the door. This includes Fast Pass access to all the rides, beach towels and a safe for all your valuables. Additionally, the guests will be served with a fruit platter and welcome drinks, definitely a VIP service.
It didn’t take long for me to cover all the play areas since the water park is not that big. It was easy to get from one place to another. I had an amazing time and will definitely revisit and bring my family with me.
I suggest visiting during the colder months because it was really hot and it was exhausting. As you know Dubai temperature is very dry, hot and humid and can be as high as 38-45 degrees celcius during summer.
Lastly make sure to follow all the rules and regulations to make sure you have an enjoyable day at the amazing Laguna Waterpark.
